We are Ruth and Blick Drange. We were born and raised on ranches in this area and our family has some great tips on how you can live like a local during your stay. If you plan on being here for a few days, you’ll want to time to see the nearby Boulder and Yellowstone rivers; Natural Bridge State Park; Prairie Dog Town State Park. A day trip could include visiting Yellowstone National Park - only a few hours away. Vacation time in Big Timber, MT also includes hiking, sightseeing, golfing, unique shopping and restaurants, swimming, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The local museum is fun for all ages.

We reserved the lodge to celebrate my mother’s 90th birthday. So we had family there between 2 yrs. old and 90 years old. More family came for just a day to celebrate.. For those who stayed for the weekend we loved the lodge and the ability to cook in a great kitchen. The rooms were large and clean and the big common area was perfect for our family. We could hike, fish and have plenty of room for outdoor games. Everyone had fun. The owners are very nice people and came to the lodge one night and showed us pictures. – Mary from WI, July 2012
We had a great time at Burnt out Lodge. Large rooms, awesome kitchen, wonderful atmosphere. This is a great place to go and totally unwind and enjoy life. – Terri from Montana
We just concluded a 4 day quilt retreat at Burnt Out Lodge. As always, the accommodations were spotless and very comfortable. Plenty of space to spread out and do our thing. We had 15 ladies there and had a wonderful time. Thanks Ruth and Blick for letting us rent your amazing facilities. Looking forward to 2016.-- The Quilt Mafia
